Guest house renovation in progress

Materials chosen for guest house renovation (click on a sample image for a closer look)

Kitchen and bathroom floors; bathroom shower floor: Logos Terrazzo tile in aquamarine
Note: This sample shows pattern # 718; we are using pattern #717 (no image available), which is slightly bluer. Also, the zoomed-in version of this sample is a close-up view; the size of the color particles in relation to the 12" x 12" tiles is smaller in the actual tile

The bathroom and shower floors will each have an inset "frame" of "Sea Glass" translucent glass bar-shaped tiles, set in 6" from each wall. The overall look will be something like this (except that the Sea Glass bars will be mitred at the corners). The Sea Glass framing tiles, like the Bisazza tiles (below), are semi-transparent and look appreciably different in the light than they do in these snapshots. Imagine the bottom of an old Coke bottle.

Shower walls, kitchen backsplash: Bisazza Cipresso in aquamarine
Note: Colors are approximate: Tiles appear lighter and greener in natural light
See a shower installation using a mosaic blend similar to Cipresso | More images at the Bisazza web site

Kitchen cabinets: Mill's Pride Premier Cabinetry "Hawthorne" pattern; distressed "Vanilla glaze" maple finish looks like aged white cabinets
"Beaded board" effect evokes traditional porch construction materials

See cabinet placement in kitchen

Kitchen counters: poured concrete (shown here in someone else's kitchen)
Glass block window (Southwest wall of shower enclosure and exterior wall of outdoor bar): Delphi pattern
